School of activism

Purpose

Valanga Academy is the first school of strategic activism. Created by RISE UP community in collaboration with Fondazione Capellino and Compagnia di San Paolo, the course is intended to produce highly specialised training on activism strategies with the aim of strengthening the capacity of political activists, NGO staff, movements and/or green companies committed to the fight against climate change to maximise their political impact and achieve systemic change.

Area of intervention

 

The sessions will be divided into: 

  • masterclasses with national and international guests who are experts in the sector
  • theoretical workshops 
  • practical workshops to demonstrate and put the learned knowledge into practice

    3-day outdoor training retreats immersed in nature are planned, during which training workshops, nature trekking and team building moments will occur in turn. 25 people that have registered with Valanga will be selected to participate.

    A 6 episode podcast series will also be created, which will address activism strategies and feature interviews with campaigners and people who are experts in advocacy.
