Climate
Change

The Earth’s climate has always changed, but never at the speed we are witnessing today. In just a few decades, we are compressing transformations that once took millennia, putting pressure on life on the planet and on the balances that make it possible.

Climate change is the direct result of human activities.

Throughout the history of the planet, the climate has undergone even extreme variations, but always over very long periods of time.

Today, everything is happening in a short span. The scientific community unanimously attributes this to human activities: land consumption, accelerated resource exploitation, pollution, biodiversity loss, and global warming, which feed off each other, generating an impact that in turn triggers other negative phenomena for life as we know it on the planet.

An unprecedented impact

Climate change affects cities, agriculture, and natural areas, putting ecosystems and the essential services on which human societies depend at risk. While not all ongoing changes can be predicted, it is certain that the impact will involve billions of people, all living species, and their habitats.

Fondazione Capellino’s commitment

Fondazione Capellino is aware of the scale of the climate crisis and has made climate change one of the central areas of its work. Acting on the climate means addressing its systemic causes, rethinking economic models and the relationships between human activities, biodiversity, and natural resources.
