Climate
Change
The Earth’s climate has always changed, but never at the pace we are seeing today. In just a few decades, changes that once unfolded over thousands of years are happening far more quickly, placing growing pressure on life across the planet and on the delicate balance that makes it possible.
Climate change is the direct result of human activities.
Throughout the Earth’s history, the climate has gone through significant changes, sometimes quite extreme, but these have always taken place over very long periods of time.
Today, however, these changes are happening over a much shorter timescale. The scientific community widely agrees that human activities are the main cause. Factors such as land use, intensive resource extraction, pollution, loss of biodiversity, and global warming all interact and reinforce one another, creating impacts that lead to further challenges for life on our planet.

BARCELLONA Climate Change
A scientific project that studies the use of resilient tree species to help reduce urban heat and enhance biodiversity and quality of life in cities. Through trials in different sites across Barcelona, the project collects data on microclimate, soil conditions, and plant health to identify more effective, climate-adapted urban forestry solutions.
