Villa
Fortuna

Villa Fortuna is the registered office of the Capellino Foundation, where our values are put into practice through three projects: the cultivation of biodiverse organic crops on the estate’s land, the renovation of the site’s original buildings using sustainable construction methods, and the establishment of the International School of Biodiversity.

the Villa Fortuna projects

RVF - Experimental Agricultural Society

Wholly owned by Fondazione Capellino, this project focuses on restoring agricultural land once used exclusively for intensive farming. The area now includes forest, stable meadow covering 15 ha, an agroforestry orchard certified organic over 3.5 ha, and an organic vineyard used for research in collaboration with CREA, also covering 3.5 ha. Alongside its organic activity, the project carries out research and experimentation to maximise the integration of biodiversity within the agricultural system and to develop a method that supports this approach.

Conservation of the Built heritage

Work on the buildings follows principles of bio architecture and energy autonomy, with no occupation of additional land.

The complex, made up of a villa and a historic farmstead protected by the Fine Arts authority, along with two further farmsteads and an accommodation facility, will be restored according to criteria of philological conservation and performance improvement. The project involves the use of materials compatible with the original structures, static consolidation, and the installation of thermal insulation systems using natural materials such as clay to reduce energy loss. Work is under way and is expected to be completed at the end of 2027.

School of Biodiversity

The school will be located within the historic villa, although courses will begin a year earlier, starting in 2027, in a temporary location.
