Fondazione Capellino Funds 5 Scholarships for the School of European Policies

Fondazione Capellino will fund a total of 10 scholarships for young local elected officials under 35, offering them the opportunity to participate in the School of European Policies for Territorial Governance.

The school will be organized by
Akadémeia, an association dedicated to training young elected officials. With this initiative, Akadémeia aims to develop local leaders capable of connecting global vision and local action, promoting policies oriented towards sustainability, biodiversity protection, and the common good.

Akadémeia is a non-profit association dedicated to training a new generation of administrators, grounded in European values and capable of tackling the challenges of the new millennium such as climate change, land consumption, and biodiversity loss.

The President of the Scientific Committee is MEP and former Mayor of Florence
Dario Nardella, while the Committee includes prominent figures at the European level.

For this reason, Fondazione Capellino has decided to support Akadémeia by funding ten scholarships for participation in the school: five have already been provided to young elected officials from Italy for the spring session. You can see a video recap of this first session here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzJQ7E0DQNk

The remaining five scholarships will be allocated to the autumn session, dedicated to young local elected officials from across Europe.

Eligibility criteria for the autumn session:

  • Be under 35 years old;

  • Be a local elected official in the EU, in cities of over 80,000 inhabitants;

  • Have English proficiency at the C1 level;

  • Fill out the form at the bottom of the page.

Applications collected by Fondazione Capellino will be forwarded to Akadémeia, which will have full authority over the selection and awarding of scholarships.
Selected candidates will be notified by Fondazione Capellino, which will then hand over contact management entirely to Akadémeia.

The scholarship funds will be disbursed directly by Fondazione Capellino to Akadémeia.

The application deadline is Sunday, September 7, 2025. Courses will begin on October 24, 2025. The session will be held in October-December 2025, both online and in person in Florence.
