REcommunity

A space to inform, share and engage

The REcommunity is open to everyone, yet it is also the community of its founders: Almo Nature and the Capellino Foundation.

It is founded on the insight that life is an indivisible whole and that human activities—when pursued without limits, as is currently the case—have a negative impact on it. Hence the importance of placing life—that is, biodiversity—at the heart of human decision-making and initiating a process of progressively returning profits generated through the extraction or destruction of biodiversity back to biodiversity itself (an economy that replenishes what it extracts); this is precisely what happens every day at Almo Nature, which is 100% owned by the Capellino Foundation.

This is the Reintegration Economy, and the REcommunity is the home for all those who share its values.

The REcommunity is open to everyone, yet it is also the community of its founders, Almo Nature and the Capellino Foundation.

It is based on the belief that life is a single, indivisible whole, and that human activities, when carried out without restraint – as is the case today – have a negative impact on it.

How nature can protect us from the heat (even during El Niño)

At last, El Niño has arrived. This cyclical weather pattern, which causes the planet to warm slightly every few years, is being felt once again. And unlike a few decades ago, it is now adding to the effects of climate change, which is not cyclical or natural, but caused by human activity and showing no sign of slowing down.

Do animals suffer as a result of climate change?

Do animals suffer as a result of climate change?

An Australian rodent, whose name was little known, became in 2019 the first mammal officially driven to extinction by climate change. Rising sea levels flooded the burrows of the Melomys rubicola, leading to its disappearance. Three years earlier, a heatwave had severely damaged the Great Barrier Reef. Within weeks, corals in the northern section had died. To protect species at risk, governments have long established protected areas. In Italy alone, there are more than 800. But when the climate changes rapidly, these areas can risk becoming places that no longer offer safety, effectively trapping animals within them. This is why protected areas need to be supported by other solutions. One of the simplest, yet most effective, is connecting them so wildlife can move more freely and become more resilient.

The community

Joining the REcommunity means becoming part of a network of people who share a simple belief: life is one connected whole and should be at the centre of the decisions we make.

This is not a place for passive observers. It is a space where people can exchange ideas, explore complex topics, support practical initiatives, and take part in a cultural shift that places biodiversity at the heart of both the economy and society.

The REcommunity is open to anyone who wants to learn, get involved, and contribute in a thoughtful and responsible way.

It's a place for those who believe that giving back to life what has been taken from it is not optional, but a responsibility.
