Patagonia and Almo Nature, coming together for the first time at a public event streamed online, will share insights into their business models in an open dialogue with the public.
This is not just a simple account, but an in depth exploration of the mechanisms, choices, and long term vision that shape the way they work.
Earth is now our only shareholder
Founded by Yvon Chouinard in 1973, Patagonia is an outdoor clothing company based in Ventura, California. Certified as a B Corporation and a founding member of 1% for the Planet, the company is widely recognised for its long standing commitment to high quality products and environmental activism. It has donated more than 250 million dollars to organisations working to protect the environment.
Its ownership structure is unique. The planet is its only shareholder, and profits that are not reinvested in the business are distributed as dividends to support environmental protection.
Country Manager for Italy, Fabio Zardini was born in Cortina d’Ampezzo in 1965. He has worked at Patagonia’s Italian headquarters in Brunico since 1999.
All Profits to the Planet
Founded by Pier Giovanni Capellino in 2000, Almo Nature is an activist pet food company that uses ingredients that are 100% fit for human consumption at source.
In 2018, through a public and irrevocable act, Pier Giovanni and Lorenzo Capellino donated full ownership of the company to the Capellino Foundation. Since then, Almo Nature has become an integral part of the Reintegration Economy, an economic model in which 100% of profits, after costs, taxes, and investments, are allocated to the Foundation. Its sole purpose is the protection of the biosphere and biodiversity.
In this way, what the production process takes from nature is returned through projects promoted internationally by the Foundation.
Secretary General of the Capellino Foundation, Giorgio Raffetto was born in Genoa in 1984. He worked for more than 10 years within the Almo Nature group, holding a range of roles.
The event will be hosted by Pier Giovanni Capellino.
